Traffic diversions in Bengaluru on August 26 for Eid Milad procession

With large-scale movement expected, traffic congestion is likely on J.C. Road, R.R.M.R. Road, Kasturba Road, Devanga Road, Mallya Hospital Road, K.G. Road, R.T. Nagar Main Road, Chamundinagar Main Road, Dinnur Main Road, Deve Gowda Road, Jayamahal Road, Church Road, Nagawara Main Road, Tannery Main Road, and Haines Road-Miller’s Road.

With large-scale movement expected, traffic congestion is likely on J.C. Road, R.R.M.R. Road, Kasturba Road, Devanga Road, Mallya Hospital Road, K.G. Road, R.T. Nagar Main Road, Chamundinagar Main Road, Dinnur Main Road, Deve Gowda Road, Jayamahal Road, Church Road, Nagawara Main Road, Tannery Main Road, and Haines Road-Miller’s Road.

Traffic has been diverted across several parts of Bengaluru city in view of the Eid Milad procession scheduled for Wednesday.

Members of the Muslim community will arrive at the YMCA Ground on Nrupatunga Road between noon and 11 p.m. With large-scale movement expected, traffic congestion is likely on J.C. Road, R.R.M.R. Road, Kasturba Road, Devanga Road, Mallya Hospital Road, K.G. Road, R.T. Nagar Main Road, Chamundinagar Main Road, Dinnur Main Road, Deve Gowda Road, Jayamahal Road, Church Road, Nagawara Main Road, Tannery Main Road, and Haines Road-Miller’s Road.

According to the traffic police, vehicles travelling from Mysuru Road towards Majestic would be diverted through Nayandahalli Junction, Nagarabhavi Circle, Madduramma Temple, Chandra Layout Junction, R.P.C. Layout Junction, West of Chord Road, Vijayanagar Metro Station, Toll Gate Junction, Prasanna Junction, Hunasemara Junction, Lulu Mall, Okalipuram Junction, and Khode Junction before proceeding towards Majestic.

Vehicles from Mysuru Road can also reach West of Chord Road through Deepanjalinagar Junction and proceed via Vijayanagar and Magadi Road towards Majestic or K.R. Market.

Those travelling from Mysuru Road towards K.R. Market would be diverted through Nagarabhavi, Chandra Layout, R.P.C. Layout, West of Chord Road, Vijayanagar, Toll Gate, Prasanna Junction, Hunasemara Junction, Binny Mill Junction, Goodshed Road, Rayyan Road, Shanthala Circle, Khode Junction, Lakshmanpuri Bridge, Freedom Park Junction, K.R. Circle, Cubbon Park, Library Road, Hudson Circle, Town Hall Junction, and N.R. Road.

When the procession reaches Market Circle, vehicles at A.S. Char Street Junction would be diverted towards B.V.K. Iyengar Road. Vehicles arriving from G.P. Street via S.R. Road would not be permitted to enter S.R. Street and would instead be diverted through G.P. Street towards B.V.K. Iyengar Road, the traffic police said.

Vehicles approaching Market Circle from K.R. Road would be diverted through Prof. Shivashankarappa Circle, L.B.F. Road, J.C. Road and Town Hall. Vehicles reaching K.R. Road through A.V. Road would proceed towards Minto Circle.

Further, when the procession reaches S.J.P. Road, vehicles coming from Mysuru Road would be diverted at City Market Circle towards Kalasipalya Main Road, K.P. Point, Basappa Circle, L.B.F. Road, J.C. Road, and Town Hall.

The traffic police have advised motorists to plan their journeys and use the designated alternative routes to avoid congestion and delays during the procession.
