Telangana government will soon invite tenders for Indiramma houses for people from Lower Income Groups (LIG) in the Core Urban Region (CURE) limits, within Outer Ring Road (ORR). The land parcels needed for construction of one lakh government houses in the CURE limits would be finalised in two to three days.

Around 500 to 1,000 houses would be built in each of the 19 constituencies in the limits on a pilot project basis. Later, more would be sanctioned phase-wise, said Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy in Hyderabad on Thursday.

He has earlier directed officials to finalise plans and designs for each of the housing sites by June-end. A communication material with guidelines, application process and eligibility was directed to be released in July first week.

The Housing Minister along with Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Md. Azharuddin, Adluri Laxman Kumar, MP Anil Kumar Yadav, MLA Raja Singh and others handed over letters allotting 125 double bedroom houses (2BHK) in Dhoolpet.

Stating that construction of houses left midway by the previous government of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) were completed, Mr. Srinivas Reddy urged people who are aspiring to own a home not to get disheartened. The District Collector was directed to identify lands.
