The Bombay High Court’s Nagpur bench on Monday (April 20, 2026) dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) petition challenging the Z-Plus security cover provided to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief, Mohan Bhagwat, observing that the plea lacked research and was not in the public interest.

The petition, filed by activist Lalan Kishore Singh, sought recovery of taxpayer money spent on the security arrangement, arguing that the RSS is an unregistered organisation.
