Following a domestic dispute, a 27-year-old woman allegedly stabbed her husband to death, at their house near Sattur on Tuesday (July 7, 2026) night.

The police said that M. Divya Bharathi and S. Mani (34) had been married to each other for eight years.

Mani, who was employed at a paper mill, had reportedly been quarrelling with her for a long time over suspicions about their marital relationship.

During a similar quarrel on Tuesday night, Bharati allegedly attacked him with a knife, causing bleeding injuries to his head and left thigh, according to the police.

She, however, told the police that he had slipped during the scuffle and died.

During the inquiry, the police found that Mani had died due to excessive bleeding caused by stab injuries.

Further investigation by the Sattur Taluk police is under way.
