SPMVV Vice-Chancellor unveils book on food analysis

A Text Book of Food Analysis, authored by Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology Professor Galla Rajitha was released by Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) Vice-Chancellor V. Uma in Tirupati on Saturday.

The 250-page book has been developed with financial support under the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA) scheme granted to the SPMVV as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Education and Research Universities (MERU) initiative, reflecting the university’s commitment to multidisciplinary education and research excellence.

On the occasion, Ms. V. Uma appreciated the author’s academic contribution anemphasised the importance of such scholarly works in strengthening interdisciplinary learning and research in emerging areas such as food and pharmaceutical sciences. The book provides a comprehensive and systematic understanding of food analysis, covering fundamental principles, analytical techniques, quality control aspects, and regulatory considerations. It is designed to cater to undergraduate and postgraduate (M. Pharmacy) students, researchers, and professionals engaged in food quality assessment and safety evaluation.

Ms. Galla Rajitha stated that the book aims to present essential concepts of food analysis in a clear and structured manner, enabling learners to build a strong foundation in analytical methodologies. Ensuring food quality and safety is of paramount importance in the present global scenario, she said and expressed hope that the book would serve as a useful academic and practical resource.

The publication is expected to benefit students, educators, researchers, and industry professionals and aligns with national initiatives aimed at promoting multidisciplinary education and research-driven learning in higher education institutions.
