Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services Palanivel Thiaga Rajan on Thursday said politics had revolved around the same issues for centuries, but the media, methodology, and scale and scope have evolved over the years.
Speaking at the launch of the book titled Inside the War Room: How Power is Built, Fought and Won, written by entrepreneur Aspire K. Swaminathan and published by Thamarai Brothers Media, the Minister said the book distilled the author’s experiences, covering a wide range of scenarios with clarity and would serve as a learning curve for anyone entering politics or campaign-related fields. Congress leader and Sivaganga Lok Sabha member Karti P. Chidambaram, who received the first copy of the book, said in this era of information overload, people struggled to remember recent events, making it difficult for political parties to stand out without sharp strategies.
He said the book was an essential read not only for those aspiring to be involved in politics but also for anyone venturing into management. He also stressed that empathetic listening is the need of the hour and pointed out that politics cannot function without a human touch.
Mr. Swaminathan said decision-making plays a crucial role in any profession, and when it comes to politics, it becomes even more important.
He said the book offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at political strategy through 51 real-world scenarios.
