The Akshara Andhra Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Assessment Test (FLNAT) – 2026 was conducted across Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, with active participation from learners and strong administrative support at all levels.

Adult Education Department Director Ranjit Basha said the examination was organised in 34,406 centres across the State with the support of 44,921 invigilators, ensuring smooth, transparent and systematic conduct of the assessment. Extensive administrative arrangements were made for the conduct of the test, including advance planning, deployment of invigilators, monitoring by district and mandal level officials, logistics management and real-time reporting through Akshara Andhra app to ensure effective implementation across all districts.

Mr. Basha said that as per the attendance report recorded at 5 p.m., the test witnessed an overwhelming response from learners. Of a total target of 25,06,696 candidates, 24,72,092 candidates appeared for the examination, registering an impressive 98.62 per cent attendance across the State.

He said several districts recorded exceptionally high attendance, with Guntur, Alluri Sitharama Raju and Anakapalli districts achieving 100 per cent participation, while many other districts reported attendance above 99 per cent, reflecting the strong outreach, mobilisation, and administrative coordination under the Akshara Andhra programme.

“The successful conduct of FLNAT–2026 has been made possible under the leadership of HRD Minister Nara Lokesh and through the continuous guidance and coordination of School Education Secretary Kona Sashidhar,” he said.

Mr. Basha, along with the district Collectors, district administrations, Education Department officials, volunteers and field staff, worked to ensure the smooth and efficient conduct of the assessment across the State.
