The Karnataka State Police, in collaboration with State Bank of India (SBI), Bengaluru Circle, has announced the third edition of the Karnataka State Police (KSP) Run, scheduled to be held on March 1, Sunday.

Launched in 2024 to mark 50 years of the State police force, this year’s edition is centred around the theme “Namma Police Namma Hemme”. It aims to celebrate the dedication and service of the police in safeguarding Karnataka. The announcement was made at a press conference addressed by M.A. Saleem, Director General and Inspector General of Police and Joohi Smita Sinha, chief general manager, SBI, Bengaluru Circle.

Categories and routes

The event is expected to attract more than 10,000 participants across age groups. The event will include two categories: the Timed 10K Run designed for experienced and professional runners, and the Awareness 5K Run that welcomes the public to encourage fitness and community involvement. Both races will commence and conclude at Vidhana Soudha, with the route passing through Cubbon Park.

The event aims to promote a green Bengaluru, a drug-free Karnataka, and greater awareness of cybercrime, while also encouraging senior citizens to stay active. The Karnataka State Police Band will perform at the starting line, and infantry horses will be stationed along the route.

Unveiling the event medal and T-shirt, Mr. Saleem said the run is a celebration of health, community, and the commitment to building a safer and more prosperous Karnataka. “The KSP Run is not just a race; it is a tribute to the relentless service of our entire police force. We encourage citizens to join this celebration and run alongside our brave officers,” he said.
