Congress leader and the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Saturday (April 25, 2026) joined the last leg of his party’s election campaign in West Bengal, and said the real electoral contest was between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress, and not with the Trinamool Congress (TMC).

Mr. Gandhi, who addressed three public meetings in Kolkata and Hooghly, said his official residence had been taken away, his membership in the Lok Sabha was cancelled, he was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for over 55 hours, and there are 36 cases against him.
