Additional Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at AIIMS-Mangalagiri, Muni Srikant, on Saturday said that students should actively participate in the competitions organised at school, including sports, music, dance, and other creative activities apart from academics.

Speaking at the kindergarten annual day celebrations of NSM Public School here, Dr. Srikant stressed the importance of cultivating moral values along with education, which he said would help the students grow into responsible and successful individuals.

The annual day celebrations coincided with the birthday of St. Louis Marie de Montfort, the founder of the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel, and the programme was organised to remember and honour the vision and values of the founder.

Senior software test engineer from Bengaluru, G. Vasundhara, highlighted the importance of developing qualities such as service-mindedness, humanity, and forgiveness. She said students should learn these qualities from an early age, as they help shape individuals to become better human beings and contribute to the progress of the nation. She encouraged students to acquire knowledge enriched with human values.

School principal Br. Rayappa Reddy said the school provided quality education and created opportunities for students to achieve their goals, apart from offering them training in sports and cultural activities.

LKG and UKG students presented the school annual report, highlighting the activities conducted during the academic year and the progress achieved. Winners of various academic and co-curricular competitions were honoured with mementos and prizes.

The programme was attended by the school correspondent Br. Monty and vice-principal Br. Balareddy, along with parents, teachers, and students.
