A review meeting on law and order situation was chaired by Maheshwar Dayal, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), in Cuddalore on Monday.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Villupuram Range) Ara Arularasu and Cuddalore district Superintendent of Police S. Jeyakumar were present at the meeting.

According to a press note, Mr. Dayal reviewed and discussed various aspects of policing, aiming to strengthen enforcement in the district. He enquired about the pendency of cases and directed the police to initiate action on complaints lodged by the public.

Cases registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act must be investigated on a priority basis and charge sheets filed in the courts at the earliest, Mr. Dayal said. The ADGP also discussed the law and order situation in Cuddalore district.
