No Congress leader will ever be a good Chief Minister, BJP MLA and Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Arvind Bellad said in Dharwad on Monday.

“The Congress is a corrupt political party and no leader can ever become a good Chief Minister. Currently, there is no governance at all in Karnataka, as leaders are engaged in in-fighting. Corruption has increased significantly in Karnataka. There is a competition between Siddaramaiah, D.K. Shivakumar and Mallikarjun Kharge for becoming the Chief Minister,” he said.

“However, none of them will make a good Chief Minister for the State. It is the discretion of the Congress as to who will be the Chief Minister. No matter who becomes the Chief Minister, it will not be good for the State. I am sure about it,” he said.

Mr. Bellad said that Mr. Siddaramaiah’s claims of being a AHINDA leader are false. He is only a leader of the Kuruba community. People from other communities like Madiwala, Savita Samaj, Ediga and Kammars have not accepted him as their leader, he said.

He said that Mr. Siddaramaiah is trying to intimidate the Congress high command only to remain in power. To a query, he said that there is no decision yet by the BJP on moving a no-confidence motion against the Chief Minister.
