Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has appealed to business establishments, firms, and contractors in the State to grant three days of paid leave to workers from Bihar to enable them to travel home and cast their votes in the Assembly elections of Bihar to be held in two phases on November 6 and 11.

Mr. Shivakumar said a large number of people from Bihar are employed in Bengaluru and other parts of Karnataka.

In an open letter, Mr. Shivakumar said a large number of people from Bihar are employed in Karnataka, and they are contributing to the State’s growth, especially in the construction and service sectors.

He also announced that the State government will allocate land to the Karnataka Bihar Association as a gesture of appreciation for the community’s contribution to the State.
