The Department of Fire and Emergency Services conducted a live demonstration and mock drill on fire safety on Sharnbasva University’s main campus in Kalaburagi on Sunday.

A team led by Fire Station Officer Praveen Kalshetty demonstrated how to respond to fire emergencies using basic resources such as sand, water and fire extinguishers.

The session aimed to create awareness among students about preventive measures and immediate response techniques during fire accidents.

More than 1,000 students participated actively in the practical exercises conducted by the department officials.

The programme was organised by the Department of Civil Engineering (Co-Ed).

Earlier, Mr. Kalshetty delivered a lecture explaining different types of fire accidents and effective methods to handle them calmly and safely.

Chairperson of the Department of Civil Engineering Rajshekar Yergol, professors S.S. Avanti, B.S. Patil and Amar Deshmukh were present on the occasion.
