Officers of the South Central Railway (SCR), Vijayawada division, organised ‘Amrit Samvaad’ at Eluru railway station on Tuesday (October 21, 2025). The programme was conducted as part of citizen engagement initiative under the special campaign 5.0 to foster open interaction between passengers and railway authorities.

Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Infrastructure) P.E. Edwin attended the programme and interacted with the passengers, auto union leaders and others during the event. The passengers requested for additional coaches, stoppage of train on platform no. 1, provision of toilets at other platforms, special trains from Kakinada via Eluru, and improve amenities at the stations.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Edwin said that ‘Amrit Samvaad’ is a platform that connects the railways and the passengers. The suggestions received during the programme reflect passengers’ commitment towards improving rail services, and every feedback will be carefully examined for implementation, he added.

“Our goal is to make stations like Eluru inclusive, efficient, and reflective of the aspirations of a modern India,” the ADRM said.

Later, a film on Amrit Stations and Amrit Samvaad was screened to create awareness among the public. Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (Maintenance) T. Suresh Babu, public relations officer Nusrat M. Mandrupkar, assistant material manager J. Phani Kumar, assistant divisional engineer T. Sainadh, station manager, staff and others participated.
