A 47-year-old wage labourer, who had gone to witness a bull-run event, was killed due to injuries inflicted by the charging bull at Perumalpattu village near Tirupattur town on Sunday.

Police said the victim, S. Gunasekaran, was a native of Chinna Vengayapalli village near Tirupattur town. He was the second victim to have died during the event in the region. Recently, a 65-year-old man died during a bull race in Vellore.

Police said when Gunasekaran tried to cross the muddy track, where bulls were allowed to run, he was hit by a charging bull, and sustained injuries on his chest. He was rushed to Government Taluk Hospital in Tirupattur town where doctors declared him “brought dead”. A case was registered by Kurisilapattu police.
