Public transport major Uber Technologies has announced its aggressive plans to expand its Hyderabad-based Centre of Excellence (CoE).

Uber’s Hyderabad CoE has 600 engineering professionals

The Hyderabad CoE, the first outside the United States, presently has over 600 engineering professionals employed in it. Uber Technologies chief executive officer Dara Khosrowshahi has evinced keenness in collaborating with the Telangana Government in the firm’s expansion plans.

Plans for Uber’s corporate office in Future City

Mr. Khosrowshahi evinced interest in setting up the firm’s corporate office in the upcoming Bharat Future City during his meeting with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad on Wednesday (May 13, 2026).

Multi-level parking spaces

The Chief Minister suggested the global major to explore options of entering into parking management space. He took parking problems experienced in major metropolitan cities including Hyderabad to the notice of the Uber CEO. The Chief Minister favoured creation of multi-level parking spaces keeping in view the future needs explaining the scenario especially at the metro stations where people were facing acute problems because of absence of parking facilities.

He suggested that Uber consider establishing parking centres along with the EV charging stations. Uber representatives responded positively assuring that the firm would conduct an elaborate study on the issue before taking a call.

Mr. Reddy explained to the delegation about the upcoming Bharat Future City which was within 25 km from the international airport. The State Government had invited Fortune 500 companies to set up their units in the Future City and several of them evinced interest in the offer.

He explained the delegation about the success of the Telangana Rising Global Summit organised at the Future City in December last year in which over 100 reputed firms took part and came forward to make investments in expanding their operations. Mr. Reddy assured the State Government’s full cooperation in the expansion plans of Uber.
