As many as 4,18,516 students have registered for the SSLC (Class 10) examinations scheduled to begin on Thursday (March 5) in Kerala, Minister for General Education V. Sivankutty has said.

At a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday, the Minister said 4,17,497 students had registered for the examinations across 3,031 centres in Kerala, 633 students in seven centres in the Gulf, and 386 students in nine centres in Lakshadweep.

Nearly 26,000 teachers will be involved in invigilation work. As many as 72 valuation camps will be held for evaluation of answer scripts from April 7 to April 28. The SSLC examination results will be announced by the third week of May, the Minister said.

HSE exams

The Plus One higher secondary/vocational higher secondary education examinations (HSE/VHSE) will get under way on Thursday and the Plus Two HSE/VHSE examinations on Friday (March 6).

As many as 4,11,025 students will appear for the Plus One higher secondary examinations and 3,41,222 students for the Plus One improvement examinations.

As many as 4,52,437 students will sit for the Plus Two higher secondary examinations.

There will be 1,984 exam centres for the Plus One and Plus Two HSS examinations – 1,966 in Kerala, seven in Gulf, nine in Lakshadweep, and two in Mahe. Nearly 29,000 teachers will be involved in invigilation duties.

Valuation of answer scripts will be held in 89 valuation camps from April 6. The results are expected to be announced on May 22.

VHSE exams

As many as 26,829 students will sit for the Plus One VHSE examinations and 26,826 students for the Plus Two VHSE exams in the regular category.

The examinations will be conducted in 389 centres and 3,700 will be deployed for exam duty.

The valuation will be held in eight centres from April 6.

Question papers

Questions papers for examinations have reached the 41 district education offices and after sorting have been transferred to safe lockers of banks/treasuries.

Plus One admissions

Once the SSLC results are declared, online applications for Plus One higher secondary admission for the 2026-27 academic year can be submitted from the very next day.

The number of seats available will be the same as in this academic year. A majority of the seats will be filled in the three round of the main phase of allotment to begin Plus One classes. Last year, the classes had started in June 18.

After the main phase of allotment, fresh applications would be invited for the supplementary allotment to fill the remaining vacant seats and complete the admission procedure in a time-bound manner.

All students who clear the SSLC examinations will be ensured opportunities for further study, the Minister said.
