HYDERABAD

The second edition of the Chief Minister’s Cup 2025, themed on “Rural to Global – Crafting Champions”, will begin at the Gram Panchayat level from January 17 to 22, followed by Mandal or Urban Local Body (ULB) level competitions from January 28 to 31, according to a press release.

Assembly Constituency-level matches will be held between February 3 and 7, while District-level contests are scheduled from February 10 to 14. The grand finale of the State-level competitions will take place across multiple venues from February 19 to 26.

The tournament will feature competitive games in Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior categories, para games in the open category, and recreational games for children and others. Participants will compete in a wide range of disciplines, including athletics, football, kabaddi, volleyball, badminton, chess, swimming, boxing, archery, gymnastics, taekwondo, weightlifting, wrestling, yoga, and many more. Para games and recreational activities will also be part of the event to ensure inclusivity.

This edition introduces several first-of-its-kind innovations, including a structured progression from Gram Panchayat to State level with centralized data capture and transparent advancement, digital registrations through WhatsApp bots, AI chatbots, and multilingual AI call centers for grievance handling and real-time monitoring. Every athlete will receive a digital ID for long-term performance tracking and future opportunities. Assembly Constituency-level competitions have been added as a new tier to bridge grassroots participation with higher-level championships, and retired coaches, former PETs, Physical Directors, NIS certificate holders, and past champions will mentor young athletes.

The torch rally will start on January 8 and continue until January 17 across all district headquarters to promote and create awareness about the tournament.
