The Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar), led by G.K. Vasan, has been allocated five seats as part of the AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance for the Assembly election.

The party will contest on the BJP’s ‘Lotus’ symbol in Oddanchathiram, Erode West, Ranipet, Killiyoor, and Kumbakonam.

Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Vasan confirmed that his party had been allocated five seats. Since his party’s symbol was under dispute, it had decided to contest the poll under the BJP’s symbol, he said.

Meanwhile, the Tamilaga Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam, led by John Pandian, has also been allocated a seat. It is set to contest the Rajapalayam seat.

Similarly, the South Indian Forward Bloc Party, led by K.C. Thirumaran, has been allocated one seat under the NDA, and the party will also contest on the BJP’s symbol.
