Alleging a breakdown of law and order in Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday (February 4, 2026) blamed the Chandrababu Naidu-led government for it, warning that his party would respond firmly if the ‘Jungle Raj’ continued in the State.
Addressing the media after meeting the family of YSRCP leader Ambati Rambabu, who was arrested for his alleged derogatory remarks against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that the government was trying to divert public attention after ‘laboratory reports contradicted its claims in the Tirupati laddu adulteration case’.
He said that the Central laboratory reports had given a clean chit, prompting the coalition government to announce yet another committee to probe the issue.
He pointed out that the Supreme Court-monitored CBI Special Investigation Team (SIT) chargesheet did not mention the use of animal fat in the Tirupati laddu, nor did it name former TTD chairpersons or YSRCP leaders following the closure of the investigation.
“Reports from NDDB and NDRI laboratories have exposed the false claims of the government. Instead of accepting the facts, the government is spreading misinformation,” Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said.
The YSRCP president also alleged that provocative posters targeting his party leaders were put up across the State, with the tacit approval of the police.
He claimed that when leaders such as former Ministers Ambati Rambabu, Jogi Ramesh, Vidadala Rajini, and Kakani Govardhan Reddy and former MLA Bolla Brahmanandaidu questioned the government’s actions, cases were filed against them and their residences were attacked.
Citing the attacks on the houses of Mr. Rambabu and Mr. Ramesh, the YSRCP president alleged misuse of power and false implication of the opposition leaders in various cases. Referring to the spurious liquor case, he said that Mr. Jogi Ramesh had no connection to it.
Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said TTD former Chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy’s petition in the Supreme Court and the subsequent CBI chargesheet had vindicated the government’s stand.
He alleged that the police had failed to act during the attacks, despite the presence of the senior officials nearby.
“We will not remain silent. All those responsible will be held accountable,” he said.
Before reading the house of Mr. Rambabu, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy participated in a day-long rally from his residence at Tadepalli to Guntur.
