YouTuber A. Shankar alias ‘Savukku’ Shankar has sought armed police protection, fearing a threat to his life.

In a petition submitted to Director-General of Police G. Venkatraman at the police headquarters in Chennai on Wednesday, he said he feared a threat to his life from two IPS officers and some anti-social elements. Mr. Shankar claimed he had recently exposed some wrongdoings of the two IPS officers, following which they had developed a personal grudge against him.

He requested armed police protection and a prompt and impartial probe against the officers.
