A 56-year-old labourer was killed and six others sustained injuries when the compound wall of V Convention in Petbasheerabad collapsed in the early hours of Monday (September 15, 2025).

The incident was reported around 2 a.m. at the premises of Aparna Readymix Private Limited Company, where several labourers were on duty. This followed heavy rains across parts of Hyderabad.

The deceased, identified as Gagan Kumar Biswal from Odisha, had been working with Aparna since 2018. He was trapped under the debris and succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Six others, identified as Rajan Kumar, Prakash Chatri, Karma Singh, Sudha, Chandan Kumar and Prashanth, were injured in the collapse. Police confirmed that their condition is stable and that they are out of danger.

A case has been registered against both V Convention and the management of Aparna Readymix in connection with the incident. Further investigation is underway.
