An elderly woman was killed and 20 others suffered injuries after a KSRTC bus lost control, fell into a road-side ditch, and overturned on the outskirts of Dharwad on Wednesday (July 22).

The deceased woman has been identified as Hasanabi Kengannavar, 60, a resident of Munavalli in Saundatti taluk of Belagavi district. The injured persons are being treated at the district civil hospital in Dharwad.

The mishap occurred reportedly due to a mechanical glitch at Kashi Nagar on the outskirts of Dharwad.

The bus was travelling from Davangere to Miraj.
