In a tragic incident reported from Panchasheela Nagar in Govindarajanagar, a 26-year-old woman and her four-year-old daughter died after allegedly inhaling gas leaking from a bathroom geyser on Monday.

The victims have been identified as Chandini, 26, and her daughter Yuvi Kiran, 4. The incident occurred when Chandini had taken her child for a bath. According to the police, the geyser is suspected to have leaked gas, causing both of them to fall unconscious.

The incident came to light when the husband Kiran called Chandni to fetch her elder daughter from school, but there was no response. Kiran, after failing to reach her, sent his younger brother to fetch their daughter..

The duo returned from school and found the door locked from the inside. He forced the door open and found the duo lying in the bathroom.

He rushed them to Victoria Hospital. Despite medical efforts, both died without responding to treatment. Chandini’s husband, Kiran, works as a carpenter.

The Govindarajanagar police have taken up further investigation.
