A Plus One student was allegedly brutally assaulted by a group of senior students at a school in Kannur, Kerala, with the victim claiming that he was struck on the head with a stone.

Six Plus Two students have been suspended in connection with the incident at PRM Higher Secondary School in Kolavallur. The victim sustained a head injury that required stitches and also suffered injuries to his leg, according to his parents.

The police have registered a case based on a complaint filed by the family and launched an investigation.

According to the student, the assault took place around noon when he went to the school canteen to have lunch. He alleged that the group of senior students attacked him without any previous dispute or provocation.

The student said the seniors assaulted him after telling him that junior students “should not walk around with their chest out on the school campus.” He also alleged that they had earlier threatened to beat him up if they found him alone.

The school authorities suspended the six students following the incident. The school management is examining whether more students were involved and whether further disciplinary action is required.
