Police arrested a person for attacking a woman in the court in Athani, in Belagavi district of Karnataka, on November 18. The woman, who was injured, was admitted to a hospital.
Babasaheb Chauhan of Kothanatti village attacked Meenakshi Ramachandra Shinde (50) with a machete. The two are relatives. They are litigants in a civil case related to ownership of a piece of property.
Babasaheb chased the woman around the court premises and attacked her. The bleeding woman was rescued by police and onlookers when she ran inside the court hall.
Meenakshi’s relatives told the police that the two families had a long-standing dispute over property.
A case has been registered.
