Telugu Desam Party Andhra Pradesh Nayee Brahmin Sadhikara Samithi president Vaidyam Shantharam reiterated that the entire community stands with the TDP-led NDA alliance government in the State as it is attracted by the initiatives taken up in favour of the marginalised communities.

Addressing a meeting of the community here on Wednesday, Mr. Shantaram, who is also a member of the TTD trust board, recalled that the present government had increased the wages of barbers working in temples from ₹20,000 to ₹25,000.

He promised to appeal to the State government to provide 200 more free units of power (over and above the existing free 200 units) for the hair cutting salons in the State.

Mr. Shantaram also said that he would strive to get ‘Community Bhavans’ built in all the 175 Assembly constituencies in the State. “The government has fulfilled over 90% of promises made to our community and will be glad to accept this proposal,” he said.
