DMK president M.K. Stalin, on Tuesday (June 16, 2026), asked when Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, “who had made tall claims about governance,” would come out of his “silent mode” and explain the steps taken to prevent criminals from acting fearlessly in Tamil Nadu.

“When will he give a call sheet to issues relating to people’s safety?” he asked in a social media post.

Mr. Stalin questioned whether the cries of parents who had lost their children had reached the ears of the Chief Minister, despite his claims of having appointed efficient officers and launched the Singappen Special Force.

He wondered whether the Chief Minister expected him to remain silent for six months even when the safety and lives of children had become a matter of concern.

“Do you expect a major protest from the DMK? Why are you silent, Mr. Chief Minister?” he asked.
