A private waste segregation godown inside Phase-III of SIPCOT complex in Ranipet town on Friday was gutted after fire broke out in the facility, resulting in thick smoke in the area.
The police said that it was around 3 p.m when a few workers in the complex noticed thick smoke coming from the godown. Immediately, along with other workers, they tried to douse the fire, but it spread to the entire godown.
