A traditional vegetable and seed festival will be held at the campus of Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) in Vellore on June 28. According to a press release, the festival, which will be organised by Isha Yoga Centre, will bring together seed conservators, natural farmers, agricultural scientists, entrepreneurs and urban growers focused on traditional seeds, chemical-free cultivation and farmer prosperity. It will also be a major knowledge-sharing platform with expert talks, farmer success stories, a large exhibition, and the Seed Guardian Awards 2026.

The event will be presided over by G. Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor, VIT, in the presence of Shankar Viswanathan and Sekar Viswanathan, Vice Presidents, VIT. More than 2,500 participants expected to attend the event.

A major attraction of the festival will be the exhibition, which will have more than 100 stalls featuring traditional seeds, natural farm produce and value-added products. Prior registration for the event is mandatory. For registration and enquiries, please contact: 83000 93777, the release said.
