As TVK emerged as the single largest party in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, winning 108 seats in the 2026 election, and fell short by 10 seats to have a majority on its own to form the government, the party is mulling over a plan for the future course of action.

Effectively, the party has 107 MLAs as TVK president C. Joseph Vijay has won from both Perambur in Chennai and Tiruchi East. On Tuesday (May 5, 2026) morning, Mr. Vijay held a meeting with the party’s MLA designates at the party headquarters at Panaiyur on the outskirts of Chennai.
