A Vietnam Airlines flight from Hyderabad to Hanoi was cancelled on Saturday (November 8, 2025) morning, after being delayed for nearly 12 hours, leaving several passengers stranded overnight at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA).

Flight VN 984, operated by Vietnam Airlines, was originally scheduled to depart from Hyderabad at 11:55 p.m. on November 7 and arrive at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi at 5:45 a.m. (local time). However, passengers who arrived at the airport on Friday night were informed of a delay that stretched into the following morning. The flight was eventually cancelled around 10 a.m. on Friday.

While there has been no official statement from Vietnam Airlines, airport authorities in Hyderabad confirmed that the cancellation was due to technical issues with the aircraft.

Videos circulating on social media showed passengers engaging in heated conversations with airline staff, alleging that no clear explanation or assistance was provided during the prolonged delay.

The Hindu has reached out to Vietnam Airlines for a comment. As of the time this report was filed, the airline had not responded to the query sent via email.
