Vedika Pinto may have won viewers over as the lively Sudha in Musafir Cafe, but her own home in Mumbai has a very different energy. It is warm, lived-in and full of little details that say as much about her family as they do about the actress herself. The home is shared by Vedika, her parents, her brother and their pet dog, Benji.
A few months ago, Vedika invited Pinkvilla into the family residence for a house tour, revealing a space that feels deeply personal rather than overly polished. Interestingly, the home was designed by her father, and many of its corners carry traces of the family’s travels, interests, heritage and memories.
A home built around food and family
The open kitchen is one of the most important parts of the house. Vedika explained that her father deliberately kept it open because cooking and eating together are central to the family’s routine. Even the storage has a personal touch, with one drawer dedicated to Chinese sauces and vinegars.
The dining area continues that same theme. It is used not just for meals but also for Vedika’s diction and Hindi classes. Cabinets around the space hold sauces, seasonings and food products collected during family travels.
The decor also brings together Vedika’s Punjabi Hindu and Catholic heritage. Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva and Jesus Christ feature alongside artwork, giving the space a distinctly personal character.
Paintings, trophies and a piano with a story
The living and lounge areas are filled with objects that have accumulated over the years rather than following one particular design theme. Among them is a piano that Vedika’s father gave her when she was five.
Family photographs sit alongside eclectic artworks and sports trophies. There is also a restored Lebanese newspaper artwork and the “Green Choli” painting. And then there is Benji, the family’s pet dog, whose toys regularly find their way around the room.
The home also has a bar and games corner that comes alive when Vedika and her parents have people over. One of its more unusual features is a customised Monopoly board called Vedika’s Bollywood Situation, made by a friend.
Vintage advertising prints from the 1950s and 1960s decorate the area as well. They were collected by Vedika’s father, who previously worked as an ad filmmaker.
The balcony is her quiet escape
For a home in bustling Mumbai, the balcony offers an unexpectedly peaceful corner. It looks out onto lush greenery despite being located on a busy road, giving Vedika a place to step away from the noise.
The decor here draws from the family’s Goan-Portuguese roots, with Portuguese candle stands and Venetian masks adding character to the space. It is also where Vedika likes to read scripts, practise dance routines or simply take some time to herself.
A room that became Vedika’s own
One of the rooms in the house has changed purpose over time. Originally designed as a bedroom, it has now become Vedika’s personal space and media room.
This is where she gets ready, rehearses, reads and watches films. Her personal bookshelf is also housed here, making the room feel more like a private creative corner than a conventional bedroom.
Taken together, the house reflects a family that likes to collect memories rather than simply decorate around a particular aesthetic. From a childhood piano and travel finds to family photographs, religious artwork, vintage prints and a much-loved pet, Vedika’s Mumbai home feels like a scrapbook of the people and places that matter to her.
