The Labour Department has urged workers engaged in the unorganised sector to collect their smart cards immediately by visiting the offices of Labour Inspectors in Mandya taluk.

The appeal is directed at various categories of unorganised workers, including load workers, domestic workers, tailors, mechanics, washermen, blacksmiths, potters, barbers, kiln workers, newspaper delivery workers, cine workers, weavers, street vendors, hotel workers, workers engaged in marriage halls, convention centres, tent and pandal works, beedi workers, gig workers involved in delivery services, and differently-abled workers in the unorganised sector.

The department has also called upon drivers registered under the Karnataka State Motor Transport and Other Allied Workers Social Security Board and workers already registered under the Ambedkar Karmika Sahayahasta Scheme of the Labour Department to collect their smart cards without delay, a press release said.

Eligible workers have been asked to visit the offices of Labour Inspectors of Circle-01 and Circle-02 in Mandya taluk to obtain the smart cards, the release added.
