The University of Nottingham has expressed interest in collaborating with universities in Telangana, the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) said in a release on Monday after hosting a delegation from the institution.

The university’s Malaysia campus operates as a private university while its Ningbo campus in China functions through a public-private partnership.

According to the visiting representatives, the University of Nottingham is keen to engage with a cluster of universities in Telangana for academic and research partnerships as well as community-based initiatives. Proposed areas of collaboration include capacity-building programmes, faculty development, joint research projects, student and faculty exchanges, and support for university incubators.

During the interaction, TGCHE chairman V. Balakista Reddy briefed the delegation on recent reforms in higher education, including curriculum development and strengthened industry-academia linkages. He stressed the importance of future-ready education and encouraged the team to establish a centre focused on sustainable development, further suggesting that they consider setting up an off-campus facility in Telangana.

The delegation from University of Nottingham included international partnership managers Andrea Ellans, Nagamani Bora, Shreyank Narayana Gowda and Vijayavani Yalla.
