Unaccounted cash seized at Sub-Registrar offices in Tiruvannamalai, Jolarpet, Arcot

Officials from the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) seized a total of ₹1.97 lakh unaccounted cash from Sub-Registrar offices at Jolarpet, Arcot and Tiruvannamalai towns in the early hours of Thursday.

DVAC sources said that  a large number of property registration are done in these Sub-Registrar offices for the past few weeks, taking advantage of the festive season.

A team of vigilance officials including S. Rajiv, Deputy SP, DVAC (Tirupattur) and DVAC’s Ranipet Inspector Vijayalakshmi, conducted the raid, which began on Wednesday evening. A detailed investigation is underway.
