The Kozhikode City police on Monday (December 29, 2025) arrested two youths suspected of sexually abusing a minor girl at a rented flat near the Kozhikode beach in Kerala. The accused were identified as Shameem and Rayees.
Police sources said the two reportedly took the girl to the flat offering food and free stay on Sunday. She was later drugged and sexually abused, the police said.
The incident came to light when the girl who had gone missing from her house at Perinthalmanna last week was tracked by the Malappuram police on Sunday. The two suspects abandoned her on the beach after allegedly giving her ₹4,000 to keep the assault as a secret.
Police sources said the girl left her house following some differences of opinion with her parents. She had reportedly visited Kasaragod before reaching the Kozhikode beach.
