The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday (June 17, 2026) attached two properties of a key accused at Baramulla in a Pakistan-backed terror conspiracy case.

“As part of its continuing anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir, two properties of a key accused in a Pakistan-backed terror conspiracy case, linked with Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), were attached,” said the NIA.

Officials said the attachment of two properties was carried out under Section 33 (1) of UA (P) Act, pursuant to the orders of the NIA Special Court, Jammu, and were located in Kanispora village of Baramulla district. They include a residential house built on land measuring 7.5 marlas and a piece of land measuring 6 marlas, on which a shed had been constructed, said the NIA.

The NIA identified the accused as Shaheen Ahmad Lone, “who was found to be involved in smuggling of arms, ammunition and explosives from Pakistan through the Line of Control (LoC)”.

“The weapons and explosives were further supplied to terrorists of the banned HM and LeT for unleashing terror activities in the Kashmir valley,” said the agency.

The NIA said the accused was “actively involved in receiving and transferring funds to the terrorists”.

Lone was arrested in September 2020 and chargesheeted in March 2021 under various provisions of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
