Two held from Kochi as CBN seizes 30 tonnes of ‘fighter drug’ in Delhi

The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) has arrested three men, including two from Kochi, in connection with the reported seizure of 30 tonnes (30,000 kg) of suspected Tramadol Hydrochloride tablets from a warehouse in Delhi.

Umesh Kumar of Thiruvananthapuram and Firdous of Malappuram were reportedly arrested from Edappally on Sunday while the third accused, the director of a Bengaluru-based firm, was arrested from that city. All three have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

They were allegedly attempting to divert a huge consignment of the tablets to Libya, according to an official release.

The arrests were made as part of Operation Vajra which was carried out between July 10 and 20, said the communication
