Head constable killed in road accident in Cuddalore district

A 42-year-old head constable was killed in a road accident at Sathamangalam within the jurisdiction of the Orathur police station on Friday (April 4, 2026) night.

The police said Prabhu, attached with the Chidambaram Taluk police station, was deployed with an election flying squad in Kattumannarkoil. On Friday (April 3) night, he was returning home from election duty on his motorcycle when a minivan rammed his vehicle at Sathamangalam. The accident occurred at around 10 p.m.

Prabhu sustained grievous injuries and was rushed to the Government Cuddalore Medical College and Hospital at Annamalai Nagar in Chidambaram, where he succumbed. The Orathur police have registered a case and are investigating.
