Two employees of the District Court in Tirupati were killed when their car crashed into a stationary lorry in Chittoor district in the early hours of Monday (April 6, 2026).

According to the police, the deceased were identified as Yugandhar and Hareesh. The duo, along with four friends, had travelled to Bengaluru to watch an IPL match on Sunday.

The accident occurred at Dandapalem Cross in Gangavaram mandal, 45 km from Chittoor, while they were returning home. The car reportedly rammed into a parked lorry, killing the two on the spot due to the impact.

The four other occupants sustained minor injuries and are undergoing treatment at the Government Hospital at Palamaner. Their condition is stated to be stable.

The Gangavaram police registered a case and initiated further investigation to determine the cause of the accident. Preliminary investigation pointed to over-speeding and poor visibility in the early morning hours.
