Two children drowned in the pond near the Kapileshwar temple in Belagavi on Sunday (May 3, 2026).

Shivam Parashuram Sundikar (7) and Parashuram Nilajkar (11), who lived nearby, had entered the pond without realizing its depth. Personnel from the fire and emergency services and the SDRF later fished out their bodies, the police said.

A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
