Rotary Dasigi Perraju Music Academy principal Mandapaka Ravi on Tuesday asked parents and teachers to educated children about the legacy of Bharat Ratna awardee and Ramon Megasaysay award (1974) recipient, musician M. S. Subbulakshmi (1916-2004) whose voice brought global recognition to Indian classical music.
Marking her birth anniversary, Mr. Ravi, along with musicians and students offered tributes and recalled her contribution to the music.
Mr. Ravi said that Subbulakshmi continues to live in the hearts of crores of people who listen to Venkateswara Suprabhatam, Vishnu Sahasranamam, Kanakadhara Stotram and other compositions.
