TNEA releases provisional allotment for special category students

The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026 committee on Wednesday released provisional allotments for students coming under special reservation category of the horizontal reservation group (7.5% reservation for students who have studied in government schools from Class VI to Class XII).

A press release stated that the provisional allotments were released for 91 differently abled students, 38 sports quota students, and eight students who are wards of ex-servicemen, after they completed their choice filling on Monday and provided confirmation to their tentative allotment the next day.

Also, the TNEA has enabled choice filling for special reservation category students belonging to the general category on Wednesday. The release stated that as many as 510 differently abled students, 3,218 sports quota students, and 1,199 students who are wards of ex-servicemen would be taking part.

Choice filling closes at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Tentative allotment would be released on Saturday and, after confirmation by the students, provisional allotment would be released the following day, the release added.
