Three new direct flights connecting Bengaluru to three destinations in the Middle East are set to commence later this month.
Air India Express will launch these flights to Jeddah and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
Services to Jeddah will commence from October 26 while flights to Riyadh and Kuwait will begin on October 27.
The airline said that these new flights will further strengthen connectivity between South India and the Middle East. It added that the new routes will benefit a wide range of travellers, including Indian expatriates, business professionals, and families visiting friends and relatives across Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Further, the direct service to Jeddah will also offer convenient connectivity for pilgrims travelling for Umrah from Bengaluru.
“In addition to meeting the strong demand for travel to Kuwait, the new connections will support growing interest among Indian travellers in exploring Saudi Arabia’s cultural and heritage attractions, in line with the country’s expanding tourism landscape,” Air India Express said.
It added that flyers from Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kannur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mangaluru, Thiruvananthapuram, and Tiruchirappalli can conveniently travel to Jeddah, Kuwait, and Riyadh via Bengaluru.
The fares on the Bengaluru–Riyadh route start at ₹13,500 (505 Saudi Arabian Riyal for Riyadh–Bengaluru) while the prices for the Bengaluru–Jeddah flights begin at ₹19,500 (570 Saudi Arabian Riyal from Jeddah). The Bengaluru–Kuwait fares start at ₹13,600 (27 Kuwaiti Dinar from Kuwait).
The Bengaluru–Jeddah flights will operate three times a week on Monday, Thursday and Sunday. From Bengaluru, the flight will depart at 5.45 p.m. and arrive in Jeddah at 9.30 p.m., and from Jeddah, the flight will depart at 10.30 p.m. and arrive in Bengaluru at 6.40 a.m.
The Bengaluru–Kuwait flight will operate on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. It will depart from Bengaluru at 10.20 p.m. and arrive at 12.50 a.m, and the Kuwait–Bengaluru flight will operate on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, departing from Kuwait at 1.50 a.m. and arriving here at 9.20 a.m.
The Bengaluru–Riyadh flight will operate on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, departing from Bengaluru at 9 p.m. and arriving at Riyadh at 12.20 a.m. The Riyadh-Bengaluru flight will operate on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, departing at 1.20 a.m. and arriving at 8.55 p.m.
