The sixth edition of the Philanthropy Asia Summit (PAS) will commence here on Monday (May 18) highlighting Asian innovations with global potential and showcasing cross-sector partnerships that translate intent into action.

The three-day summit, themed “Asian Innovation, Global Good”, is expected to bring together leaders from philanthropy, multilateral institutions, governments, corporate foundations, financial institutions, and the business community.

Participants will explore how science, technology, innovative financing, and cross-sector collaboration can drive bold solutions in climate action, healthcare, and inclusive development.

Edmund Koh, chairman of the Philanthropy Asia Alliance, will deliver the opening remarks on the first day of the summit. Soumya Swaminathan, chairperson of the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, will speak on healthcare-related issues.

Giving details of the summit, organisers said over 250 speakers from across the globe would speak on different aspects.

Prominent speakers included Ajay Banga, president of the World Bank; Ahmed Talib Al Shamsi, CEO of Emirates Foundation; Alasdair Harris, director of Ocean Resilience & Climate Alliance, Dubai; Bambang Brodjonegoro, dean and CEO of the Asian Development Bank Institute, Japan; Yvonne Pinto, director general of the International Rice Research Institute, Philippines; Hari Menon of the Gates Foundation and Marina Romanello of University College London.

The summit will focus on Asia’s role in shaping practical responses to challenges in climate, health, and inclusive development across sectors and nations. Over the course of the three-day event, public, private, and philanthropic leaders are expected to discuss how their distinct strengths can be aligned around shared priorities to accelerate progress.

The summit, organised by the Philanthropy Asia Alliance, a Temasek Trust initiative, will highlight how Asian innovations can contribute to global good and how partnerships can be translated into measurable impact through the use of science, technology, and innovative financing models across Asian countries.
