The three-day awareness programme on ‘Cyber safety and digital literacy’ conducted by the Government Degree College for Women, Srikalahasti, covered cyber frauds, ethical use of digital services, cyber laws, legal rights and crime reporting mechanism.

Organised under the soft component of Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA), a Government of India sponsored scheme aligning with the New Education Policy, the event aimed to sensitise students to online threats and equip them with skills for secure digital engagement, said programme coordinator B. Durga Anuja.

Highlighting the relevance of the programme in preparing students for digital-age challenges, College Principal B. Rajasekhar said the participants gained insights into the major cyber threats in 2025, legal remedies, tips on securing personal devices, responsible social media usage, digital literacy in everyday life, identification of misinformation and fake news, safe online banking and e-commerce practices.

Resource persons Syed Irfan Ali and Mohammed Abdul Farman from Black Buck Education conducted the sessions, while the event’s co-coordinator A. Sumathi and IQAC coordinator T. Malathi Gabriel took part.
