Three arrested, 15 kg ganja seized in raids in Hyderabad

Three persons were arrested and nearly 15 kilograms of ganja was seized during separate operations carried out by the Excise officials across Hyderabad on Sunday.

Acting on a tip-off, the Rangareddy enforcement team carried out raids in LB Nagar Circle and apprehended one Katta Ganesh, a resident of Sarangapur mandal in Jagtial. Ganesh was selling ganja to his friends and regular customers. A total of 7.75 kilograms of ganja was found in his possession, and the case was handed over to the Saroornagar Excise Station officials.

In a separate case, the State Task Force – D team arrested two youths who were selling ganja near Hafeezpet flyover in Aditya Nagar. The accused were identified as Sravanapu Nitish Kumar Reddy and Chelimela Vijayakumar, both residents of Nellore district.

Officers seized 7.2 kilograms of ganja, mobile phones and a two-wheeler allegedly used for transporting the contraband during the raid. Investigations revealed that the two were living in Begumpet’s Old Customs Colony and were involved in supplying ganja locally. The seized items were handed over to Serilingampally excise station personnel.

Further investigations are under way in both cases.
