After an incident of a teacher allegedly administering harsh punishment to a student at a Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGMREIS) school came to light, the management terminated the services of the teacher.

TGMREIS sources said the incident occurred at the TGMREIS Boys-1 School in Narayanpet on March 31. The terminated staff member, identified as Jahangeer, was employed on an outsourcing basis and was discharging duties as a night duty teacher.

Senior TGMREIS officials, including Regional Level Coordinator, were informed of the incident by the parents of a Class VI student; The parents submitted a written complaint alleging that the child was subjected to harsh punishment on March 31. The matter was brought to the attention of officials by both the parent and the school administration on April 1, with the family indicating its intention to approach the police.

Sources said a complaint was subsequently lodged at the Narayanpet Police Station by the parents, who demanded the removal of the teacher.

Following this, a team visited the school to conduct an inquiry into the incident. The parents were spoken to, and the team assured them that appropriate action would be taken. Thereafter, the services of the teacher were terminated, sources added.
